Jaffray House
At »Æ¹ÏÉçÇø, boarding is about more than accommodation. Jaffray House is a welcoming community where students build friendships, develop independence and feel supported throughout their school journey.
Located within our 80-acre Mount Eliza campus, Jaffray House brings together students from across Australia and around the world in a close-knit and inclusive environment. Here, boarders are known well by experienced staff who take a genuine interest in their wellbeing, growth and success.
Students share comfortable rooms, creating opportunities to form lasting friendships and learn important life skills. As students move into their senior years, greater independence is encouraged, with Year 12 students prioritised for individual rooms.
As a co-educational boarding community, Jaffray House provides students with opportunities to form meaningful friendships and build connections with peers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Shared common areas bring the community together, while dormitories and bathroom facilities remain separate for male and female students, ensuring privacy and comfort for all boarders.
Academic Support
Supporting Every Student to Achieve Their Best
Boarding provides students with the structure, support and environment they need to develop strong study habits and achieve their academic goals.
Dedicated study sessions are held Monday to Thursday evenings and are supervised by qualified teachers, giving students access to guidance and academic assistance when they need it most. Purpose-built study facilities, located adjacent to Jaffray House, provide a focused environment for homework, assessment preparation and independent learning.
The Head of Boarding works closely with students throughout the year, helping them set goals, monitor progress and develop the confidence and skills required for future success.
Within a supportive boarding community, students learn to manage their time, take responsibility for their learning and build habits that serve them well throughout school and beyond.
Sharing Meals, Building Connections
Shared meals are an important part of boarding life. They provide an opportunity for students to come together, connect with friends and enjoy a sense of community at the beginning and end of each day.
Fresh meals are prepared onsite by »Æ¹ÏÉçÇø’s catering team, with menus designed to support the health, wellbeing and development of growing young people. Boarders enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner and daily snacks, with a range of dietary requirements catered for.
Throughout the year, special meals and celebrations bring the boarding community together. From birthday dinners to cultural celebrations and community events, these moments help create a vibrant and welcoming environment where students feel valued and connected.
